Event Details

Back by popular demand!

Join us on a journey to the depths of sin with Sky Candy's first full length production. We're bringing you a cirque noir-style adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale, THE RED SHOES, back for ONE WEEKEND ONLY.  Our first run sold out every single show and we're expecting the same for the reprise!

Conceived and directed by Sky Candy co-founder Chelsea, THE RED SHOES follows the story of a young girl seduced by a pair of red shoes fit for a princess as she descends through the ranks of hell. Aerial acrobats, dancers and puppeteers interpret the classic story through a blend of traditional circus acts like trapeze and aerial silks, dozens of shadow puppets and a single giant marionette.

Featured performers & collaborators: Chelsea Laumen, Andy Agne, Xochitl Sosa, Tym Simpson, Amy Hayes, Winnie Hsia, Courtney Brock, Chris Lundberg, Michelle Stuckey, Celeste Bliss, Brynn Route

Also, the ND now serves food!  Check out the fabulous menu from Tamale Molly and plan on doing dinner and a show with us! :)

FAQ

What time do doors open?
Doors open a half hour before showtime.  For our evening performances, doors will open at 7:30pm and for our Sunday matinee, doors will open at 2:30pm.

What time do the performances actually begin?

We will try to start as close to 8:00pm for evening shows and 3:00pm for the matinee as possible, but we may hold the show a few extra minutes to let the audience fill in.

What do I do if I want to go to a sold out show?  Do you offer standby?
We offer "standing room only" tickets at the door for each performance of the show.  We will form a line outside of the venue starting up to 30 minutes before showtime and start letting folks in 5 minutes before showtime to allow ticketed patrons to get seated before the deluge of last minute folks rolls in. :)

How long is the show?

The show's run time, including intermission is approximately 70 minutes of face-melting awesome and mind-blowing beautiful.

Is this show appropriate for children?
These performances contain no nudity, profanity or explicit violence; however, there are dark themes (after all, this is the story of a girl going to hell!).  We leave it up to you as a responsible adult figure to make your own decision about the appropriateness of the show for your kids. :)

Is this the same show you guys did in May?
Yes, but we have refined choreography, as well as added some new performers and apparatuses to the show.  We hope that even if you came to see us the first time around that you loved it enough to join us again and see what fresh elements we've added to the reprise.

Where can I eat before or after the show?
The ND now serves food!  Check out the fabulous menu from Tamale Molly and plan on doing dinner and a show with us!  There's also many fabulous restaurants within walking distance of the venue, including East Side Showroom, Buenos Aires Cafe, Bits and Druthers and more!
